November Luncheon: Case File – Cybercrime and Crisis Communication Deconstructed
November 13 @ 11:30 am - 1:00 pm
Last year 945 companies experienced a data breach, which is almost 3 per day. That means that 945 PR teams woke up one morning to a terrible crisis for which they might have been ill-prepared.
Crisis communication experts Kristin Miller and Ashley Stewart, of cybersecurity company Webroot, have seen firsthand how cyber incidents can affect companies of all sizes and know what PR pros need to do to stay prepared.
Join us for our November luncheon where Kristin and Ashley will walk through 2 cybercrime incidents and how the PR teams from these companies responded.
- Kristin Miller has over 15 years of PR experience, with a passion for technology PR. She currently heads up cybersecurity company Webroot’s global PR team, focusing on cybersecurity across the US, EMEA, Australia, and Japan. Previously, she was with SSPR, a high tech PR agency working with brands including Groupon, Patagonia, RingCentral, and many others. An unrepentant fan of the oxford comma, she can be found chasing her 6-year-old daughter through playgrounds, cheering for her alma mater Purdue University, or taking Buzzfeed quizzes. Follow her on Twitter @KristinMiller.
- Ashley Stewart has more than ten years of experience in public relations and communications helping companies share their stories with external and internal audiences. She joined Webroot in February 2017 as the senior public relations manager. Prior to Webroot, Ashley worked at Level 3 Communications, supporting a variety of technical verticals including cybersecurity. Before making the jump to the tech world, she worked at the Denver Art Museum in numerous communications and marketing roles. She has a passion for communicating about cybersecurity, corporate social responsibility programs and crisis communications. When she’s not talking about cybersecurity, she’s playing with her puppy, practicing her downward dog or up in the mountains. You can find her on Twitter @AJDenver.
