The Employee Communications Strategist supports and executes excellent mid-market client work leveraging First Person Advisor’s proven models. Excellent client work means effectively reaching employees with multi-channel (print and digital) campaigns by augmenting the internal Human Resources team seamlessly. Campaigns will largely focus on employee benefits and other aspects of total rewards. You also play a role as a strategic thinker and doer while work is planned, designed, produced, launched and reported on for First Person clients. You report directly to the Vice President of Marketing & Communications and work very closely with Employee Communications practice teammates.

You are accountable for these key areas:

  1. Develop comprehensive multi-channel employee communications campaigns that positively impact the employer’s brand.
  2. Partner with internal Accounts team and Employee Communications practice teammates to deliver strategic campaigns to clients.
  3. Project manage the First Person Employee Communications Practice process effectively across dozens of projects and clients and varying timelines throughout the year with an emphasis on typical Open Enrollment season (Q4).
  4. Report on the effectiveness of employee communications campaigns for clients and provide strategic recommendations for optimization and continued work.
  5. Support First Person internal marketing and sales enablement opportunities as needed.

Requirements

1: Develop comprehensive multi-channel employee communications campaigns that positively impact the employer’s brand.

  • Create or maintain employer brands to strengthen internal communications between employer and employee population.
  • Leverage First Person’s LASSO ™ model to develop measurable multi-channel employee communication campaigns.
  • Creative design, layout and production of print, video and digital communication materials with a focus on end user experience.

2: Partner with Accounts team and Employee Communications practice teammates to deliver strategic campaigns to clients.

  • Function as an extension of the Account team as a subject matter expert in the Employee Communications Practice with intent to serve First Person clients.
  • Work cross-functionally with all necessary teammates to achieve the most effective employee communication campaigns.

3: Project manage First Person Employee Communications Practice work effectively across dozens of clients and varying timelines.

  • All work completed is accomplished efficiently as you steward available resources.
  • Continue building the extensive library of resources for our internal teams and clients.
  • Organize and archive resources for easy access and reference for all team members.

4: Report on the effectiveness of employee communications campaigns for clients and provide strategic recommendations for optimization and continued work.

  • Report on key performance indicators as part of First Person’s LASSO ™ model.
  • Proactively offer strategic direction based on data interpretation and recommend next steps based on reporting.

5: Support First Person internal marketing and sales enablement opportunities as needed.

  • Assist with content, design and promotional needs related to the marketing of the firm to prospects and client. Less than 10% of your time.

Goals and Measures of Success

  • Client work is completed with a high level of accuracy, professionalism and attention to detail. Once fully proficient in the role, minimal revisions should be needed by teammates in the Employee Communications Practice.
  • Clients, Account team and teammates are confident in the Employee Communications Strategist’s expertise and knowledge of assigned areas.
  • Client work receives positive remarks in annual client survey.
  • Client work is delivered on time or ahead of deadlines.
  • Employee Communications practice is meeting revenue and recurring revenue goals because of your cohesive involvement and work.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, graphic design or a related major (required)
  • Two to three years of professional marketing, communications and/or graphic design experience (required)
  • Proficient with a variety of technical programs and software – including Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office and content management systems (ie: Wordpress). (required)
  • Experience with video communications from concept, storyboard, filming through post-production, delivery and promotion. (preferred)
