President’s Message 2025

I am honored and excited to address you as the newly elected president of the PRSA Hoosier Chapter. As we embark on this new chapter together, I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for the trust you have placed in me.

I’ve been an active member of this chapter for the last six years and I’ve had the pleasure of  serving in various capacities, winning the “Volunteer of the Year” award in 2020 and meeting and forging long-lasting relationships with some incredible human beings. I consider myself to still be in the very early stages of my career, so it is a privilege to serve such a vibrant and dedicated community of communicators and public relations professionals

Over the years, our chapter has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to advancing the profession, fostering innovation, and supporting one another. It is my goal to continue this legacy while introducing fresh perspectives and initiatives that will elevate our collective impact.

My vision for the upcoming term centers around three core pillars:

1. Professional Development: We will focus on creating more engaging and interactive opportunities for everyone filled with not only learning and growth – but fun. It is pivotal that we as members of the chapter have time to really connect and engage with one another. Through our lunch and learns, networking events and more, we will find ways to tailor our programs to meet the evolving needs of our members.
2. Increasing Membership: Without our dedicated members, we wouldn’t be where we are today. Through our professional development opportunities, I’m hopeful that we can highlight the value of membership and encourage communicators and public relationship professionals, who are not members, to join and take advantage of the perks. I also hope to strengthen our connections within the local community. By collaborating with local organizations, we can amplify our presence and contribute meaningfully to the public discourse.
3. Member Support and Inclusion: I am committed to fostering an inclusive environment where all members feel valued, seen and heard. This includes enhancing our communication channels and ensuring that diverse voices and faces are represented in all aspects of our chapter’s activities.

Now, I couldn’t do any of this without my team. There are several volunteers who will assist in making this work possible this year, and I am lucky enough to work besides such veterans. Thank you all so much for your commitment.

I encourage each of you to actively participate in our initiatives and share your perspectives. Your feedback and involvement are crucial to our success.

Together, we can build on our strengths, address challenges, and seize new opportunities for the betterment of our chapter.
