Elizabeth Friedland, APR, has worked in communications for more than 15 years, working both on the agency side and in-house. She most recently served as the Senior Director of Corporate Communications for Appirio, where she led communications for the company’s half-billion-dollar acquisition by Wipro. In the fall of 2018, Elizabeth launched her own consultancy, Nest Communications, and now counsels clients including Cummins, Studio Science, and Hope Healthcare.

Chris Gahl
Senior Vice President of Marketing and Communications, Visit Indy
Chris joined Visit Indy in 2005. Prior to his role at Visit Indy, he owned a marketing firm in Honolulu, helping Hawaii tourism. He holds a degree in communications from Butler University where he is also on the Board of Trustees. He also serves on the St. Vincent Foundation Board and Indiana Humanities Board.

Valerie Warycha
Communications Director, Office of Indiana Secretary of State Connie Lawson
Valerie joined the office of Indiana Secretary of State Connie Lawson as Communications Director in April 2012. Prior to joining the office, Valerie worked as a press secretary for the Indiana House of Representatives where she managed media relations for numerous state representatives. Most recently she served as Communications Director for the Indiana Department of Workforce Development.

Valerie is a graduate of the University of Southern Indiana, where she majored in Public Relations and Advertising. She earned her J.D. from the Indiana University McKinney School of Law in Indianapolis.

Morgan Cooper
Marketing Director, Breezy HR
Morgan is a born and raised Hoosier who has focused her career on helping companies merge the customer success, marketing, and sales worlds to create a memorable and authentic journey. With 10 years of marketing experience, that includes time in not-for-profit, corporate and startup roles, Morgan now works as the Marketing Director of Breezy HR, a recruiting and applicant tracking software. Her time is spent developing the company’s marketing strategy, managing marketing operations, and maintaining strategic partnerships.
