2017 President’s Day
I never paid much attention to President’s Day. I noted retailers had sales and that some people had the day off (I never did), but it wasn’t a day that had much significance on my personal calendar. This year is different.
This year, I helped with the effort to recognize the Chapter’s past presidents, something the Chapter has done each February. Once again, the Hoosier Chapter is honoring our past-president’s service by donating to the chapter’s scholarship fund.
For many years, the Chapter has awarded two scholarships to deserving PRSSA students who use the funds to further their public relations education. We believe the donation the Chapter makes in their name is a way to represent their long-lasting commitment to advancing the profession and the professional.
It’s a challenge to be a leader. I’m grateful that we have a long history of Hoosier Chapter members who were up for the task. It’s because of their hard work and dedication that our Chapter is recognized nationally as one of the strongest in the association.
If you can, this President’s Day take a moment to say thank you our past-presidents.
