Q: How did you get to where you are today?
More than 25 years’ service to not-for-profit organizations and higher education has given me a distinctly client-centered perspective on our agency’s work. We’re not here just to sell products or services; rather, we’re here to solve problems.
Q: What advice would you give to new PR professionals?
Always work to strengthen your storytelling skills. Working in any medium — print, video, social media, or what have you — you’ll be more successful if you can move people through effective stories.
Q: Is there a specific cause or non-profit for which you advocate?
I am an advocate for Christian colleges and universities. The intersection of faith, reason and culture fascinates me.
Q: What are your hobbies outside of work?
I’m a beekeeper. I currently have six hives of honeybees on my rural property. It’s a way for me to connect with the rhythms of the ecosystem.
Q: What’s one PR rule that you live by?
“Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. Then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man.” (Ancient proverb)
