PRSA Hoosier Chapter Named PRominent Chapter Award Winner — For Second Year in A Row
The Public Relations Society of America East Central District (PRSA ECD) announced today that the Hoosier Chapter is a winner of the 2023 PRominent Chapter Award. This marks the second year in a row that the Chapter has earned this honor.
The Hoosier Chapter represents public relations professionals from throughout Indiana. Founded in 1957, the organization is one of the largest in the nation and boasts a number of accolades and awards for exemplary work on behalf of its more than 270 members.
The PRominent Award was established by PRSA ECD in 2021 and awarded to five chapters this year. The district represents 16 chapters in Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. Nominees for the award were required to demonstrate excellence in diversity and inclusion initiatives, membership outreach, community service and professional development programming.
The Hoosier Chapter received special recognition for its programming and support for area college students seeking to enter the public relations profession. The chapter holds an annual speed networking program and Half Day With A Pro event to connect students with elite practitioners in its membership.
“We are honored to congratulate the Hoosier Chapter for their achievement in public relations excellence,” said Kaylin Staten, PRSA ECD’s 2023 Chair.
Hyacinth Rucker, president of the Hoosier Chapter’s board of directors, credited the hard work of leaders and members who volunteer their time to support the chapter.
“It is truly an honor to work along side so many talented public relations professionals in Indiana who give selflessly to the chapter everyday,” said Rucker, Manager of Media and Public Relations at The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis. “Our chapter has done an exceptional job at seeking opportunities to incorporate diversity and inclusion in our programming, as well as offering the next generation multiple opportunities to learn, connect and grow in this profession.”
