Looking to Give Back? Use Your PR Knowledge for a Purpose

PR knowledgeAre you a PR pro looking for new ways to give back? Have you ever thought to use your expertise to give back? Volunteer for PRSA’s Day of Service: PR for Purpose.

On Saturday, August 4, from 9am to noon (ET), join other PRSA members, PR professionals, and nonprofits to make a difference in the Indy community. For the third consecutive year, the PRSA Hoosier Chapter has organized an event partnering local nonprofits with PR professionals to offer pro-bono PR counsel.

The Hoosier Chapter is also offering PR for Purpose volunteers credit toward their APR annual requirements. APRs who volunteer should record the event in the pro-bono section of their APR Maintenance Application and will earn two points!

Although the commitment is small, the impact is mighty. During the three-hour event, time will be spent with a few pre-selected nonprofits learning about their organizations and PR needs – as well as advising your groups’ specific pre-matched organization on how to fill those needs or leverage new public relations opportunities. You’ll be matched with a nonprofit applicant prior to the event by the Public Service Committee, who will provide you with background information and ample time to review and ask questions.

This event is free to attend, and a continental-style breakfast will be provided for our volunteers and nonprofit attendees.

Head to our Events Page to register or email publicservice@prsahoosier.org for more information. We’d like to have our volunteers registered as soon as possible – but no later than the end of July!
